BREAKING: Shooting reported at Vancouver elementary school

A person shot two others in the parking lot of a Vancouver elementary school Tuesday afternoon, then reportedly drove off and shot himself in the head, The Columbian newspaper reports.

A Vancouver Public Schools statement confirmed the shooting happened around 3:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School in Vancouver after the school day had ended. There were two adult victims, the conditions of whom are still unknown. No students or staff were injured in the shooting.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said there is no active threat, and the suspect appeared to have stopped at Padden Parkway and Andresen Road in Vancouver and shot himself. Police said the 2200 block of Northeast 104th Street would be closed for investigation, and Padden Parkway and Andresen Road would be closed as well.

When the incident occurred, the school had already been let out and most of the student body had left.

Trooper Will Finn with Washington State Patrol said the southbound ramp of Interstate 205 was closed in relation to the shooting.

The Columbian reported that the school went into lockdown, but the lockdown was lifted around 4 p.m.

This story will be updated.
