Sky broadband is down this morning with thousands of customers reporting they are unable to access the internet.
At around 9am, outage tracker Downdetector said it had picked up 1,200 complaints from Sky customers.
Sky said it’s aware of the issue and is working on fixing the problem, but it couldn’t tell us exactly how many customers are being affected.
A map on Downdetector appears the show the majority of the issues are centred in the south of the UK, although Sky couldn’t confirm this.
Sky said: “We are aware of an issue with Sky Broadband.
“Our teams are investigating, and we aim to have the service restored as soon as possible.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing and will update when we can.”
There seem to no access across large parts of this UK including areas such as Croydon, Reading, Swindon, London, Slough, Plymouth and Cardiff.
Customers have taken to social media in a meltdown about their lack of internet access.
One Sky broadband customer said: “Not working in Brixton London. Can’t even access sky website for service status and when it does come up no internet info.”
Whist another added: “Sky broadband down in Deal, Kent since at lease 06:30″
Taking to Twitter, one customer said: “@SkyHelpTeam Sky broadband down in Beckenham. When will it be working again? Been off about 2 hours”
And another added: “I’ve just called up and he said 98% of the UK sky broadband is down if you have 3 green lights you’re affected… so you may want to check what message you’re giving.”
