Dancing On Ice: Jake Quickenden pulls out of Christmas special after breaking neck bone  | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Dancing On Ice‘s Christmas special will be a man down during its festive episode after causing some injuries. Jake Quickenden was due to return but has been forced to pull out as a result of breaking a bone in his neck.

Jake competed in the ITV contestant last year and was partnered with professional partner, Vanessa Bauer.

The former I’m A Celeb star was to return to the ice contest for the Christmas special ahead of next year’s full series.

However, Jake was forced to pull out as a result of breaking a bone in his neck.

The star took to social media yesterday to share his concerns in view of his 502,000 followers.

Earlier this month Jake revealed that he had spent six hours in hospital after slipping and hitting his head when he jumped into a pool in Bali.

Sharing a picture of a cut on his head, he wrote: “It resulted in 25 stitches, a CT scan and X-rays on my neck, which luckily all came back OK, oh and a really nice bald patch.”

He added: “I’ll be fine in a week or so after I get the stitches removed.”

Jake will surely be missed by fans of the show who were impressed by his performances in 2018, including the Dancing On Ice judges.

In the past, Jake has also appeared on X Factor in 2012 and 2014, and on I’m A Celebrity in 2014.

However, the ice-dance show brought him to light last year after he was consistently awarded high scores.

Christopher Dean told him he “would” be in the final but fans were furious as Jake almost dropped Vanessa during a daring lift in one of his routines.

This left fans fuming on social media and questioning the judges score despite almost dropping his pro dance partner.
