Thanks to fumbles on the Eagles’ first two offensive series, the Cowboys leaped out to an immediate 14-point lead in a huge clash between two frontrunners in the NFC East on Sunday night, and even after the Eagles responded to cut the deficit in half, the Cowboys answered right back with two scoring drives of their own in the second quarter to carry a 17-point lead into halftime. After Carson Wentz connected with Dallas Goedert for a 28-yard touchdown to cap an 87-yard drive, getting the Eagles back into the game, the Cowboys mounted their own lengthy touchdown drive that culminated with a one-yard touchdown pass to Blake Jarwin before piecing together two more scoring series that resulted in a pair of field goals late in the half, the second a booming 63-yard shot by Brett Maher a week after he hit from 62 yards out.
