McLean County forum focuses on behavioral health

NORMAL (WEEK) – A free forum in the Twin Cities today focused on behavioral and mental health.

This is the third annual Behavioral Health Community Forum.

Attendance has tripled with 300 attendees at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Uptown Normal.

Trisha Malott, supervisor for the McLean County Behavioral Health Coordinating Council, said that spike in attendance is a great sign.

“People are beginning to know the forum and what we do each year,” she said. “They’re beginning to see what the county is doing and how we’re stepping in.”

“A little bit less about the people experiencing mental health but instead just globally recognizing that it is something to pay attention to.

27 breakout sessions were offered with 20 organizations represented, including nonprofits and hospitals.
