Fortnite: Save the World is getting its biggest, toughest boss later this year

With all the excitement that’s constantly swirling around Fortnite: Battle Royale, it can be easy to lose track of Save the World, the game’s less-competitive, survival focused co-op side. Despite not getting any update with the Battle Royale’s Chapter 2 patch, Epic hasn’t forgotten about Save the World and has just released a new Roadmap to let fans know what’s coming.

The Roadmap gives players the specifics of Save the World’s next several patches. The mode is getting a few Halloween-themed updates, including Fortnitemares, at the end of October and into November.

But the Roadmap’s biggest focus is on what comes after this current run of Save the World patches. After patch v11.10’s second content update, which is scheduled for Nov. 12, the game will get a pretty big update, including its toughest boss yet: the Storm King. The Storm King is going to be a new Mythic boss fight and will be the most difficult thing yet in Save the World. Once players best the Storm King they’ll gain access to his Mythic weapons.

Epic also mentions it’s planning to release content a little less often for Save the World, but to make the updates themselves more substantial. The Roadmap’s changes will start rolling out this week, and will continue through the next several months with the release of the Storm King.
