ISSAQUAH, Wash. – The King County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Issaquah School District for a public service announcement about new paddle arm cameras on school buses.

The Sheriff’s Office will now review every violation they receive and will issue citations when it is determined that someone ran through a stop paddle.

“The next time you think about driving around a school bus that has its stop paddle out, think twice,” a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office wrote in a news release.

Highline Public Schools, Bellevue Public Schools and Seattle Public Schools have similar partnerships.

According to deputies, those who are found to have run through a school bus sign are subject to a $419 citation.
