NFL Power Rankings 2019: Week 7 Edition

Week 6 of the 2019 NFL regular season schedule is officially in the books. Now it’s time to see how all 32 teams stack up heading into Week 6. For reference purposes, here is a link back to last week’s NFL Power Rankings.

BLG’S WEEK 7 NFL POWER RANKINGS

– New England Patriots (Last Week: 1) – The Pats are 6-0 and they’ve barely had to break a sweat.

– New Orleans Saints (LW: 2) – The Saints are doing a great job of treading water until Drew Brees’ targeted Week 8 return.

– San Francisco 49ers (LW: 6) – There should be no more doubt: the 49ers are for real. The only remaining undefeated team in the NFC.

– Green Bay Packers (LW: 4) – The Packers got some assistance, sure, but they’re always going to be a threat to win with Aaron Rodgers.

– Seattle Seahawks (LW: 5) – Russell Wilson has thrown 14 touchdowns to zero interceptions this season. He also has three rushing scores. He’s the rightful NFL MVP so far.

– Houston Texans (LW: 14) – There’s something I just don’t buy with this team but they did notch a big win in Kansas City.

– Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 3) – The Chiefs have now dropped two straight games at Arrowhead Stadium. Uncharacteristic. Patrick Mahomes doesn’t seem 100%.

– Baltimore Ravens (LW: 8) – Lamar Jackson is on pace to become only the second NFL quarterback with over 1,000 single-season rushing yards and beat Michael Vick’s record of 1,039.

– Carolina Panthers (LW: 13) – You’ve got to give it to the Panthers. They looked dead in the water at 0-2 and Cam Newton hurt. Now they’ve won four games in a row with Kyle Allen. Do the Panthers go back to Cam? And if they do, will they be able to keep winning?

– Detroit Lions (LW: 9) – The Lions got jobbed in Green Bay. Despite the final result, this team has showed they’re a tough group to beat.

– Buffalo Bills (LW: 11) – The Bills return from their bye to play Miami. Good chance to reach 5-1.

– Indianapolis Colts (LW: 12) – The Colts return from their bye to play Houston. First place in the AFC South is on the line.

– Minnesota Vikings (LW: 19) – The Vikings’ previous struggles are in the rear-view mirror after two straight convincing wins. Minnesota owns the league’s third best point differential.

– Los Angeles Rams (LW: 7) – Jared Goff has thrown 14 touchdowns to 15 interceptions in his last 14 starts. He’s the fourth highest paid quarterback on an annual basis. Kind of an issue.

– Chicago Bears (LW: 15) – The Bears return from their bye to host New Orleans. It’s not perfectly clear if Mitchell Trubisky will be able to play. It’s also not clear whether that’s a good thing or not.

– Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 10) – The NFL is a passing league and the Eagles have big problems at wide receiver and cornerback. Not ideal. For all their faults, though, the Eagles can claim first place in the NFC East with a win over Dallas this week. It would sure help if Carson Wentz’s teammates could stop regularly letting him down.

– Dallas Cowboys (LW: 16) – Hm, who could’ve guessed the Cowboys’ 3-0 start was a mirage? Dallas would’ve dropped further if not for a lot of teams behind them also losing.

– Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 18) – The Jalen Ramsey saga continues to loom over the team as they drop to 2-4.

– Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 24) – Always pretty good when you can win on the road while starting your third string undrafted rookie free agent quarterback.

– Oakland Raiders (LW: 22) – The Raiders return from their bye to play in Green Bay. Tough one as it’s a 1:00 PM ET start for the West Coast team.

– Denver Broncos (LW: 25) – The Broncos are riding a two-game win streak. Real test on Thursday Night Football with KC coming to town.

– Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 17) – I’m just going to copy and paste what I wrote last week: “The Chargers are a perpetual disappointment.”

– Tennessee Titans (LW: 20) – The Titans were shutout as Marcus Mariota was benched for Ryan Tannehill. Not a good team.

– Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 21) – Jameis Winston was a turnover machine in the Bucs’ loss in London.

– Cleveland Browns (LW: 23) – The Browns fought hard in their home loss to Seattle but they’re now 2-4 with the league’s eight worst point differential. This isn’t looking like the breakout year many expected them to have.

– Arizona Cardinals (LW: 27) – The Cards have narrowly defeated two bad teams in a row. Progress.

– New York Jets (LW: 31) – It turns out that Sam Darnold is a big upgrade on Luke Falk. Probably too late for the Jets to save their season but Darnold provides hope for the future.

– New York Giants (LW: 26) – Daniel Jones has thrown twice as many interceptions (6) as touchdowns (3) in his last three starts. He’s also fumbled three times this season. Danny Turnovers.

– Atlanta Falcons (LW: 28) – How did the Eagles lose to this team? They’re trash af.

– Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 29) – The Bengals are serious contenders for the No. 1 overall pick. Even if they don’t get that, they should be in position to draft Andy Dalton’s long overdue replacement.

– Washington Redskins (LW: 30) – Washington moves down despite winning because they almost lost to the worst team in the league. Winning this game only served to screw up Washington’s draft positioning.

– Miami Dolphins (LW: 32) – The Dolphins are doing a great tank job.
