BREAKING: Waterloo Police release information on man missing in Cedar River

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – In a press release on the Waterloo Police website, authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating Chandor Gardner of Waterloo.

Police say, Gardner is a black male, age 45,  5/9” tall and approximately 250lbs. He was last seen on Tuesday October 8, 2019 around 6 a.m. in the Cedar River between 11th and 18th Streets. If you have any information regarding his location police say to please contact them at 319-291-2515.


UPDATE (7:50 a.m.) — Waterloo police confirm that they are searching for a man in the Cedar River.

Authorities began the search after receiving a call at approximately 5:48 Tuesday morning.

We will have more details as they become available.

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) — Waterloo Fire and Rescue are conducting a search near the 18th Street bridge over the Cedar River.  Rescue crews were called out about 6:15 Tuesday morning. Our crews on the scene report authority using boats, and searching the river banks with flashlights.

It’s unclear what they are looking for. This is a developing story.
