COBB COUNTY, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was at the scene of an officer-involved shooting in Kennesaw on Sunday night.
Channel 2’s Audrey Washington was on Lone Oak Trail, where police said they were called to a domestic incident involving a woman and her brother.
Police said someone in the home called 911.
“As the officers arrived, they did see a suspect flee towards the basement,” Officer Scott Luther with the Kennesaw Police Department said.

Luther said they commanded the brother to walk out of the basement.

“He did come out with what appeared to be a weapon,” Luther said. “He did present a threat and that’s when the officer fired.”
Luther said police found a weapon at the scene.
Police would not say how many shots were fired. They also would not let media close to the home.
The man’s condition has not been released, but police said he was taken to a hospital.
None of the officers involved were hurt.
This is the 64th officer-involved shooting the GBI has been called in to investigate this year.
