Zumbro Valley Health Center hosts self-care Saturday

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — A family-friendly event took place in Rochester Saturday morning with the goal of reminding people about the importance of self-care.

The non-profit hosted the free event to give attendees the opportunity to learn the many different ways to practice self-care. The kiddos also joined in on the fun doing yoga, tai chi and learning about music therapy.

Local community partners such as Orangetheory Fitness, Tonic Juice Bar and more were also in attendance answering questions and providing tasting drinks. The fundraising event focused on providing helpful tips through wellness-inspired activities.

Zumbro Valley Health Center CEO Beth Krehbiel said self-care is not only about focusing on one aspect such as mental health, but the importance of overall health.

“It’s easy to just think one thing, but it’s really important when you’re taking care of your mental health to really think of your nutrition, your exercise, social connection mindfulness. It’s really important to be well-rounded and take care of all aspects of your life to really feel good.”

Proceeds from the event will help the non-profit to continue to provide services for addiction disorder, mental illness and more.
