#ProHogs In The NFL – Week 2 Schedule

John Thomas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As quickly as Week 1 of the NFL season came and went, it’s already time for Week 2 as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers will be featured in the Thursday night matchup on the NFL Network. Kick-off is slated for 7:20 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium.

There will be 11 more games that could potentially feature a Razorback this week. Last week, 13 former Hogs suited up and 10 saw playing time, including New Orleans defensive end Mitchell Loewen. The former Hawaii-standout was a last-minute signing to the Saints’ 53-man roster before their Week 1 matchup with the Houston Texans. Loewen racked up two tackles in 11 defensive snaps, including stopping Deshaun Watson on a one-yard scramble. Loewen is listed on the practice squad this week, but will be ready if called on again when New Orleans travels to take on the LA Rams on Sunday at 3:25 p.m.

Sunday’s noon matchup between the LA Chargers and Detroit Lions had the makings of a prime game for Razorback fans with tight end Hunter Henry coming off a strong Week 1 performance going up against Frank Ragnow and Trey Flowers. Unfortunately, Henry suffered a left knee fracture in practice this week and is expected to be out four to six weeks. Henry had four catches for 60 yards against Indianapolis last week.

On the other sideline, Flowers and Ragnow both are expected to start for the Lions as they are still looking for their first win of the year. The Lions pulled off the rare tie against Arizona last week, but will be playing at home for the first time this year. Flowers had two solo tackles last week, while Ragnow played every offensive snap and also had a fumble recovery.
