JACKSON, Wyo. – Buckrail has received several reports of a crash on Teton Pass involving a truck towing a trailer. According to WYDOT, the incident has left the runaway vehicle arrester out of service near Jackson at milepost 7. Expect delays on your evening commute.
According to Fire Marshal Kathy Clay, the crash involved a man hauling a heavy load of some 32 12-inch round logs in a gooseneck trailer when he lost his brakes and had to use the runaway arrester on Highway 22 (Teton Pass). The unidentified man was not wearing his seatbelt but was reportedly unhurt by the incident.
The truck and trailer is teetering over the edge of a drop-off. Some of the logs left the load and went down the embankment.
“It’s going to be an interesting removal,” Clay said.
