Cape Town – Top Billing presenter Fezile Mkhize was announced runner-up at Mr World 2019 in the Philippines on Friday.

The 25-year-old holds a medical degree and currently works in the television industry – he has hopes of specialising in cardiothoracic surgery.

Through his work, he has dreams of bringing principles of wellness to as many people across third world countries as possible.

Seventy-two men from around the world took to the stage in what is dubbed the “biggest male pageant to search for the ‘Most Desirable Man’.”

The grand finale opened with the candidates dressed in their national costumes on Friday.

Fezile Mkhize was crowned first runner-up, and Mexico’s Brian Faugier was awarded the title of second runner-up.

England’s Jack Heslewood took the title of the ‘Most Desirable Man’ 2019.

Following his win, Fezile took to Instagram to reflect on his Mr World journey, writing: “‘Thank You. It’s been a demanding three weeks filled with everything you could think of- from physical trials and tribulations; to mental exhaustion with 71 newfound brothers.

“It has been more than I ever thought it would be and through it all, I have proudly flown not just my beautiful country’s colours but held the African soil from which I come from in my heart,” he added.
