No one injured in Leitersburg Pike house trailer fire | Local News

No injuries were reported in a house trailer fire Monday morning on the 20100 block of Leitersburg Pike, across from Leitersburg Cinemas, according to Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Co. Deputy Chief Adam Hopkins.

Hopkins said the call came in about 8:50 a.m. and the structure was ablaze when crews arrived.

He said the fire was contained within 10 minutes, but crews would be spending some time checking to make sure there was no possibility of the fire reigniting.

Hopkins also said crews were told there might be someone in the house trailer, but after two searches, no one was found inside.

He said the structure was reportedly not a full-time residence for anyone, but someone would stay there occasionally.

As of 9:30 a.m., Hopkins said he had no idea what caused the fire, but a state fire marshal was called to investigate.

He said the house trailer was likely a total loss.

The inside of the structure appeared to have sustained heavy damage from the fire and water used to douse the flames, and parts of the walls were completely gone.

Responding agencies include Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Co., Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Co., Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Co., Hagerstown Fire Department, Washington County Special Operations, Community Rescue Service, Smithsburg Community Volunteer Fire Co. and the county’s air and rehab units.
