HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) – The fourth annual Health and Wellness Fair happened in Houghton Tuesday afternoon.
The event is put on in a partnership with the Downtown Houghton Farmers Market. Representatives from many different health service organizations from all over the U.P. set up booths to help promote healthy living.
The event is put on to help expand outreach for all of the health service providers.
“We wanted to expand outreach, and use the market as the venue to do that. By having the health fair we’re able to bring people down to see the market, get them increased access to local food, and to highlight the area health care providers,” said Michelle Seguin, the Director of Community Health for the Portage Health Foundation.
This is an annual event, and it helps people learn how to get healthy while enjoying the great weather.
