Drunk flight attendant arrested after passing out on US flight

A US flight attendant has been arrested and charged after passing out on a plane and not knowing what city she was in once the flight landed, police said.

Julianne March, 49, from Wisconsin, was charged with public intoxication on Thursday, according to an arrest affidavit, as reported by the Kansas City Star.

The incident occurred on an August 2 flight from Chicago to South Bend, Indiana on a United Express airplane operated by Air Wisconsin.

Julianne March was photographed asleep.

“Hey @united, our flight attendant appears to be quite drunk on this from from ORD to SBN. She is slurring her speech (she couldn’t make it through the security announcement), couldn’t walk straight/was bumping into everyone in the aisle, and kept dropping things,” Scherb tweeted.

“All the passengers seem to recognise it too. This is appalling,” Scherb said in a second tweet.

Prosecutors said airport police officers and United Airlines employees boarded the plane and met with the flight attendant after it landed.

Authorities examined the flight attendant to see if she had any medical issues, but did not find any, prosecutors said, as reported by the Tri-City Herald. She had the smell of alcohol on her breath, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and poor balance, an affidavit said.

March could face up to six months in jail, a spokeswoman for the St. Joseph’s County Persecutor’s Office told the Tri-City Herald.

Air Wisconsin told the Tri-City Herald that the flight attendant is “no longer an employee of the company”.

United Airlines and Air Wisconsin did not respond to the Daily News for comment.
