Building collapse on Phillips (MWC)

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Some lawsuits in the building collapse in downtown Sioux Falls have been settled out of court for more than $4 million.

According to the settlement agreement, most of the money will go to the families of Ethan McMahon and Emily Fodness. McMahon, a construction worker, was killed when the building collapsed around him in December, 2016. Fodness was injured when her apartment above crashed down into the rubble.

The settlement’s coming from the insurance companies for Hultgren Construction and Legacy Development.

Other lawsuits linked to the collapse are still pending.
