BREAKING: FSU lands 4-star RB Lawrance Toafili

Recruiting, like the wind, is ever-changing and unpredictable which is part of what makes it a must-follow for the most hardcore fans.

The offseason of RB coach Donte Pimpleton is the perfect example of this. Pimpleton went from seemingly striking out on all of his top targets to landing the top two backs on FSU’s board in Jaylan Knighton and new commit Lawrance Toafili in a matter of a week.

Toafili picked FSU over Michigan, Auburn, and UF on his local news show during the sports segment. This is another big win over powerhouse schools for Pimp. He is also the perfect compliment to Knighton in this class. On film, you see a tall albeit smooth back with crazy cut back ability and an innate sense of balance and vision for his size. He also brings agility and freakish speed and acceleration for his size. You also see a player who is comfortable catching the football in space and getting upfield.

Toafili also has a borderline 40-inch vert which shows you that his lower body explosion is off the charts.

Toafili is from the same area as current FSU commit Jayion McCluster which should only help in keeping him in the fold. Though the four-star prospect has gone on record to say FSU is his dream school and with the depth chart potentially wide open next season I see no reason to think he won’t sign if the Noles field a competitive team this fall. Toafili is the second running back to commit to FSU and the staff wants at least one more. Look out for Daijun Edwards out of Colquitt to potentially be the last back in this class. Also, give a nice shout-out to Coach Pimp while you’re at it.
