In memory of Michael:

A music festival in memory of Huddersfield man, Michael Hampshire, killed in Afghanistan four years ago was held at Golcar Conservative Club recently.

£1,000 was raised for the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF)

The cheque will be presented to Lieutenant Colonel Barnbrook of the ABF charity at the club on Wednesday, 31 July

Mr Hampshire, a 29-year-old, security contractor, died in May 2015 when a Taliban suicide bomber detonated an explosives-packed car near the capital’s international airport.

He was travelling in a European Union police (EUPOL) vehicle convoy when the bomb was detonated a few hundred metres from the airport terminal.

An inquest into his in Bradford heard the coroner recording an inquest of unlawful killing.
