Breaking and entering: Substation Road
Police responded to a possible break-in at Willow Lake Campground at 9:14 a.m. July 15. The campground owner reported that someone had tried to enter the campground office between 9 p.m. July 14 and the morning of July 15. Police noted “fresh saw marks” on the office building door lock. A concession stand had also been broken into. However, nothing appeared missing or damaged. Witnesses stated hearing noises and seeing lights on inside the concession stand at 10 p.m. July 14. The owner was providing police with security camera footage at the time of the report.
Theft: Spruce Pointe Lane
A woman reported giving a painter a $300 deposit to paint her garage and laundry room June 27. The painter said he would be back on July 1 to do the work, but he never returned. The victim had also been unable to reach the painter after several attempts by phone. Police were also unable to reach the suspect at either of the two numbers provided by the victim. The victim noted that the painter has done work for her in the past without incident.
Drunkenness: Pearl Road
Police responded to a call at a Samuel Drive residence at 7:39 p.m. July 15 reporting that “an intoxicated male with blood on his hands and face” had left the house, possibly headed to Rico’s Bar and Grill. Police found the man’s pickup in the parking lot of the Pearl Road bar. The man was inside the truck, talking on a cell phone when police arrived. He told police he’d had two beers. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for being behind the wheel of a vehicle while intoxicated. He was later released to a family member.
