Breaking: multiple reports Callum Hudson-Odoi will sign a new contract with Chelsea

According to a report from The Times, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has opted to extend his contract with the club and has a new deal that will pay him €111,500 per week (over €5.9 million annually) for the next five years. SportBild’s chief Bayern Munich reporter Christian Falk, however, argues that Hudson-Odoi has not — at least not yet — in fact signed the contract.

The English outlet released the following news today, which seems to indicate that Hudson-Odoi has committed to staying at Chelsea on a lucrative new contract:

Callum Hudson-Odoi has given new manager Frank Lampard a major boost by agreeing to stay at Chelsea. The 18-year-old has finally accepted the club’s most recent offer a five-year contract worth £100,000 a week and is expected to sign before the start of the season.

In addition, The Times reports that Bayern made “four separate bids with the highest reaching €46 million.” The BBC and The Daily Mail have also reported the story. Specifically, the Daily Mail states that the extension is down to the final stages of a legal review:

Chelsea are currently completing the legalities connected to the new contract – with Hudson-Odoi due to sign once the formalities have been ratified.

Falk, however, who has recently both confirmed and rebutted various rumors via his personal Twitter account, adds that Hudson-Odoi has not yet signed the contract in question.

Does that leave Bayern Munich with any hope of changing the young man’s mind? As per the norm, we will be following this story closely.

UPDATE [1:15PM EST]

Falk is waving the white flag, so it is probably safe to assume that Bayern Munich has officially missed out on signing Hudson-Odoi:
