Disney Debuts Official Teaser For Much-Anticipated Live Action Version Of ‘Mulan’ – WATCH!

We can’t wait to see Mulan!!!

On Sunday morning, Disney dropped their official teaser trailer for the live action version of Mulan, a much-anticipated sneak peek into what should be a VERY popular movie for the studio. The teaser, which you can watch (above), is a little more than 90 seconds of action-packed adrenaline showing off the title character’s development and desire to bring honor to her family as part of the familiar storyline adapted from the animated version of yesteryear.

It was an interesting trailer to watch, for more than a few reasons.

For one, all the shots in the trailer, and the general theme of the cinematography and location/set design in general looks exceptionally beautiful and intricate. Clearly, a LOT of effort was put in there alone — which, maybe is what you’d expect from Disney anyways, but it’s nice to see them go all out and get little details right throughout.

Furthermore, the trailer gives the feel that this will NOT be a simple shot-for-shot remake of the original, but rather its own, new re-imagining of Mulan’s storyline and the characters involved. Low-key not gonna lie, we love that! Take a chance and adapt it for the world today to make it even better and more relevant than it otherwise ever would have been! Loving this!!!

The #Mulan remake seems a little less like a shot-by-shot remake and more of a re-imagining of the cinematography which feels closer to the source.

It reminded of me House of Flying Daggers & The Forbidden Kingdom.

I’ve made no secret of the fact that I think Disney’s live-action remakes are kind of a horrible thing for pop culture at large (but I did enjoy Aladdin SHUT UP), so it should be good news when this major corporate behemoth built on nostalgia deviates from their norm.

Well there you have it, Perezcious readers! SO many opinions about this re-make — and so much nostalgia going around, no doubt, as people inevitably compare it to the original! No shortage of thoughts and reactions about it, so maybe that’s a good thing, too! By the time spring 2020 rolls around and Mulan hits theaters, everybody ought to be DYING to see it and compare!!!
