BREAKING: Missing, endangered person with autism found safe

Eau Claire County (WQOW) – A missing and endangered man with autism has been found safe, after authorities resumed their search for 22-year-old Alex Twait Wednesday morning.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office says Twait walked back home Wednesday morning around 7 a.m. They said he was wearing different clothes than when he left on Tuesday night, so they are trying to find out why, and where he went to get different clothes.

If you know where Twait was overnight, you are asked to contact the Eau Claire Communications Center at 715-839-4972.

Authorities say Twait is healthy and OK. They said they worked especially hard to find him Tuesday night because of his autism and knowing he is easily overwhelmed.

According to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office, Twait walked away from a group home in the area of Redwood Drive and Highway 93 in the town of Pleasant Valley around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.
