Russian Air Force lets loose heavy attack as Syrian Army prepares for next assault in NW Hama

Syrian Air Force resumes airstrikes over Idlib after failed ceasefire

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:40 A.M.) – The Russian and Syrian air forces have begun striking northwestern Hama and southwestern Idlib as they attempt to weaken the jihadist resolve before the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) begins their next assault.

According to a military source, the Russian and Syrian air forces struck several jihadist targets in Idlib and Hama, including the towns of Kafr Zita, Hish, Al-Hobeit, Madaya, and Rakaya.

The source added that the Syrian Arab Army is once again preparing to storm the key hilltop of Tal Malah in northwestern Hama.

On Thursday, the Syrian Army launched two attacks on Tal Malah in a bid to retake the hilltop from the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

While the Syrian Army attack did have some initial success, the latter was eventually routed by the jihadist rebels on Thursday afternoon.
