The Rock Eagle Mound was 'probably built' by Native Americans about 2000 years ago.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ga. – The Department of Public Health is investigating after dozens of campers got sick at summer camp.

A spokesperson for the Rock Eagle 4-H Center, which is located in Putnam County and run by the University of Georgia, confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that 54 kids got some sort of stomach virus at camp this week.

Rock Eagle canceled all weekend events so they can scrub the cabins.

Channel 2’s Richard Elliot is at the camp in Putnam County working to find out more about what happened and the camp’s next steps. He’ll have a LIVE report on Channel 2 Action News at 4 p.m.
