Is Your Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr Jekyll?

Are you considering a facial cosmetic procedure? Well, you better be sure you know your plastic surgeon’s credentials.

Plastic surgery is a billion dollar industry, and there are a lot of unqualified medical professionals who hope to make money off of you. Each year, thousands of unsuspecting patients who do not take the time to investigate the physician who performs their cosmetic procedure are putting their health at risk.

There are numerous facial cosmetic procedures for you to choose from. You want to make sure that your cosmetic procedure is performed safely and correctly. You must be aware that there are unqualified physicians out there promoting their services. Some even offer discounted rates and two procedures for the price of one. Just remember, you get what you pay for!

So, what exactly do you need to look for in a qualified facial plastic surgeon? You need proof that your physician is Board Certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). If the physician cannot provide you with that information, run don’t walk out the door. A qualified physician should be able to provide you with verifiable proof.

Next, inform the physician of the facial cosmetic procedure you plan to get, and ask to see recent before and after pictures. Only allow the physician to show you before and after photographs of the cosmetic procedure you are interested in getting. It doesn’t matter how many successful breast augmentations the physician has performed if you are interested in getting facial collagen injections. Also, ask if there are any patients he/she has performed the procedure on who would be willing to speak with you regarding their procedure.

Don’t be a statistic! If you do your research, you will find there are plenty qualified facial cosmetic surgeons available.
