Generationals share video for ‘Breaking Your Silence’ ahead of new album release

The Generationals are a little more than a month away from the release of their new LP, Reader As Detective. Their latest single ‘Breaking Your Silence’ is a slice of summertime sweetness, offering airy instrumentation and sensational melodies in abundance.

The song’s video, directed by Spencer Kelly, places bandmates Grant Widmer and Ted Joyner on mobile truck billboards scattered throughout the countryside. Evocative synths and rollicking percussion slot in beautifully behind the earworm vocals of Ted Joyner. The track seems custom-built for a drive with the sun shining and the windows rolled down.

“I dreamt of a day when we could make our music and blast it into the vast wilderness, void of people and their pettiness and fighting,” says Widmer. “So we made a video with this in mind, as a love letter to our true, pure audience: horses and trees.”
