BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 A.M.) – The Political Security Branch headquarters came under attack this evening after unknown assailants fired two RPGs towards the building.
According to a source in southern Syria, the unknown assailants targeted the Political Security HQ inside of Sweida City.
No casualties have been reported as of yet.
This latest attack comes just days after the commander of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) 15th Special Forces Division was assassinated near the Dara’a Governorate border.
The Syrian military believes a Free Syrian Army (FSA) sleeper cell in eastern Dara’a was responsible for the assassination.
The Syrian intelligence bases in southern Syria have now been attacked at least twice in the last two weeks, with the previous assault launched by an FSA sleeper cell in southwestern Dara’a.
